Buhari’s appointments: I will rather hold him on achievements

0 62

He didn’t pick anyone from my village, and so what?

He didn’t pick someone from my town.  Henhen, what is that?

He didn’t pick someone from my clan. How would that do?

He didn’t appoint someone from my kindred. How would that be an issue?

These stuffs are coming out because we all know the “meaning” of government in Nigeria. The meaning of Government in Nigeria is chop, chop and chop. We are aware that once your man is in government or anywhere close to it, then your “major prayers” have been answered.  We crave to have our people in power not because of public good but of personal good.

I know a lot would disagree with me on this, but we all know better. There was something similar  that was posted on this blog(please refer: http://ewolewoo.com/heshe-village/). We were able to give some specific insights as they regard the fallacies that we tend to attach to the criteria of origin or place of birth  when considering public appointments.

Would I still have uninterrupted power supply in my house and stop being harassed by noises from generators? Would I still have my roads in good conditions as expected? Would I still have all the money stolen returned and back into the national treasury? Would I still have proper conditions on ground for jobs and job creation? Would people still get their salaries when due without stories? Would there be normal government policies that would continue to encourage proper industrialization of the country? Would the customs be able to deliver 3 trillion naira annual revenue to the country as Nigeria is a perpetual exporting country? Would NNPC still deliver? Would all the loopholes that encourage people to scam the system thereby becoming overnight billionaires be blocked? Would I continue to get gas at the filling station anytime without any complications? I can go on and on…Just let the system run please..

Once we can get all these done, I tell you the interest in government would be very minimal because many Nigerians want good things of life occasioned by having money. Once an average Nigerian sees that the system is working in such a way that it is easier to make more money outside government, he/she would jettison government appointments or jobs and use his entrepreneurship skills. However we know that no one would think this way. It is government positions all the way I tell you, so Buhari has a lot to ponder o!!

For me I would hold Buhari (same way I held Jonathan) on his achievements and not on his the birthplace of his appointed aides….Ewolewooo!!!
