David Mark : The power from above is no more

0 199

David Mark’s election has been upturned by the Appeal court. He has been told to prepare for a new election. He has been told in no uncertain terms that his election na wayo. This is a very serious matter I tell you.

Life can be funny o!! I can still recall this same David mark in 2007 elections. Then he contested against an individual nicknamed ‘’young Alhaji’’. When the election results were trickling out and it was clear that David Mark was losing. What did he do? He made contact with the then President-elect(Umaru Yaradua) and ‘’things got settled from above’’. When the final result came out, his opponent  didn’t know what befell him. He ran to court but his case was already settled from ‘’above’’.  David Mark went on to become the senate President.

In 2011, he contested again against Lawrence Onoja. That election was so funny because all the news outlet and social media had already called the election for Onoja based on the exit polls. However, with David mark’s unalloyed support from the then President Jonathan, the election result was declared for David Mark to everyone amazement.  Onoja went to court but it was a lost case. The case was already declared from ‘’above’’. David mark continued as the senate President.

Now in 2015, David Mark is on the opposite side of power. He doesn’t have the normal Aso rock support. He doesn’t have the President’s phone number as usual. He doesn’t have the ability to activate ‘’ the power from above’’. He has to sing his song and make sense out of it. He has found himself in an unfamiliar terrain. He is now on his own.

For now, David Mark would face ‘’real election’’. David Mark will deal with the Police who are not under his control. David Mark will learn how to deal with a new INEC not under his watchword.  David Mark is now in desert while he is used to be in the rain forest. This new election for David Mark would not be an easy one. David Mark is fighting against determined opponents who would not be forgiving.  Wahala dey o!!

This is the concluding part of Act 1 Scene 1. We are waiting for Act 1 Scene 2 in 90 days. Meanwhile, I hail my former senate President. I say Twale!! I still remain totally loyal..Ewolewoo!!!
