Donald trump is a self-made multi Billionaire and he is running for the Presidency of the United States of America. He is attacking Obama. He is attacking Hilary. He is attacking Jeff Bush. He is just attacking…Once you attack him he comes back at you and he doesn’t give a damn. He made his money himself without anyone’s input from the establishment and he is not ashamed to defend himself. Some people can claim the father was rich, which is true. However, we can barely count the number of rich people’s kids who improved on their folks legacies. We all know better joor!!

Now, what is the real gist? The real gist is this: How many of our (Nigeria) so called billionaires can look at the Nigerian President in his face and tell him that he is wrong, when he is actually wrong? How many of them can look at powerful government functionalities and tell them that “dem dey yab”, when they’re actually yabbing? How many? We all know the answer. There is a link of many of the billions to Government patronages and that is the Problem.

Donald Trump just declared his assets and he is worth about US$10 billion (which is over 2 trillion naira) yet he is not fretting whenever the issue of blasting the system is concerned. He says it as it is. You may agree or disagree but he comes out with his own thoughts because he owes you naadaa!!

When you have a benefactor, it is only granted that you have a “debt” to repay. Any attempt on your side to be too ‘smart’ could lead to the reactivation of the redemption of such debt. Many business men prefer not to have such “issues”. That is the reason you see many of our so called billionaires doing everything possible to corner anybody who happens to become the President. They want import waivers. They want important government lands to be given to them at giveaway amounts. They want landmark government properties to be outrightly sold or leased to them at ridiculous rates. They want the army,police and SSS to be their guards. They want continuous injection of barely secured bank loans (running into billions) in their business. I can go on and on…

We have a real issue to solve in this respect. I want our billionaires to make their money without any unfair government advantage(s). This would help the system. This would further project entrepreneurships. This would make government people more responsible. The more billionaires that can make money out of their individual sweat the better for the system. This should be the watchword.

Donald trump has told the world how to be a billionaire and yet still hold your own. Let us imbibe this.
