In these days, what we used to do 10 years ago has suddenly turned to some stuff for the ancient museum. The stuffs that used to matter in those secondary and university days have become some thing in the class of dinosaurs. Everything has changed and the rate of change is so fast that lots of people and things are being vastly left behind. This now leads me to our educational system. The system is archaic and it’s fast turning totally irrelevant. If care is not taken, within 5 years from now, spending more than 2 years in the university for any course would soon turn to a total waste of time..

We’ve got softwares that have made some courses totally irrelevant and inconsequential. How can a man who had his PHD in telecoms 10 years ago still continue to teach kids telecoms in these days of minutes changing of the models of Apple, Samsung, techno phones among others? You want to tell me that the students out of his class are relevant to the millions of phone users who want the latest in phone communication? Why would the guys in his class be more relevant to a young kid who just took a 6 month training with Apple or Samsung? Who would you rather meet with your Apple problems?

Why must you be bothering kids about some long mathematics in school? Why? You’ve got softwares that would do the most complex mathematical calculations in micro seconds. So what exactly are you impacting on those kids with brain racking calculations? There’s a virtue in moving forward. Teach them the coding that’ll make them solve whatever maths that’s brought to them. You’ll be surprised that the same kid, whom everyone said couldn’t do much, would excel to unimaginable heights. Living in the past brings no glory my people..

There’s a reason why Facebook, Google, Apple and other tech companies are so powerful. The reason is not farfetched. They have embraced the world as it is today. They’re dealing with the realities of the world as it is today. They’re tackling the fast changing complications of human reality as it is today. However, our educational system is tackling the world of yesterday. A world that’s totally forgotten in the scheme of things is the watchword of our educational technocrats.

Anyone who embraces today and the realities of today will win the guy who still believes that yesterday realities would always suffice. Times have changed. There’s no need in working from first principles. Advance from the very latest you can get. That explains the realities of today.
